Garden Centre Association: Best UK Garden Centre
In the past we have teamed up with a number of local schools to help transform some areas within their school grounds. We have also had groups of children visit on school trips, learning a little about our garden centre and the basics of growing plants. We also offer support for gardening projects with advice, plants and equipment.
In 2017 we raised over £9,000 for our chosen charities! We love to support a wide range of local and national charities including Greenfingers, Macmillan and Ty Hafan. We raise funds throughout the year through fundraising fun days, quiz and curry nights and sponsored challenges. Many thanks to everyone who took part last year to help us raise this amazing total!
We are on hand 7 days a week to offer you all the help and advice you need! Want to get involved? Come and speak to our knowledgeable staff who are happy to help!
Natural nesting sites are in decline due to new construction and changing landscapes. As a business we are trying to reduce our impact on such habitats by installing a number of bat and bird nesting boxes in various suitable locations around the garden centre hoping that birds may nest here at the garden centre.
Hedgerows are gradually disappearing from the landscape of Wales. Native species hedgerows are one of our richest habitats, a joy to look at and home to hundreds of wildlife species. We are hoping to help ‘Keep Wales Tidy’ in line with their community hedgerow project by volunteering to maintain and improve hedgerows here at the garden centre.
