Coronavirus Update Following First Minister Announcement
A STATEMENT FROM THE OLD RAILWAY LINE GARDEN CENTRE MANAGEMENT TEAM:
Following today’s announcement (08/05) from the First Minister we would like to update our loyal customers regarding the services we will continue to run. After long consideration and discussion over the past week we, as a management team, made the decision not to open our doors for public access this Monday. Despite changes to lockdown rules allowing Garden Centres to open, we feel it is too early to allow full access to the centre, which could pose a threat to our team and our local community.
We will however continue to run our safe, non-contact collection and delivery services (detailed below) to ensure we serve our local community, giving you access to all of the food, pet supplies, plants, gardening products and everything else we normally supply.
We understand the importance of gardening; an opportunity for you to enjoy the outdoors whilst having a positive impact on physical and mental health, which is more important than ever during these unprecedented times. We are here to help you get everything you need!
We will continue to offer the following services to serve our community at this difficult time:
– Local Delivery Service: Your goods delivered to your door or a safe place specified adhering to strict social distancing rules.
– National Home Delivery using a selection of the best courier options in the UK.
– Phone Orders for Collection: Give us a call to order your goods. We will collect your items and take payment over the phone ready for your visit. When you arrive, we will bring your shopping to your car and load it without you needing to get out. Just call us when you are here and leave your boot open.
– Click & Collect: Our website is available for purchasing items to collect. We will email you when your order is available to collect.
Our current stance will continue to be reviewed and we are currently making changes to our shop layout, flow and fittings to ensure they are safe when we do open our doors fully.
We would like to thank all of our loyal customers who continue to support us through this difficult time. We would also like to extend our thanks to our hard-working team who are working tirelessly to take orders, collect and deliver them to your home or car in a safe way.

Applaud your decision! It can’t be at all easy to make that decision but certainly we feel it is the right one! We will continue to support you as much as we can and when all this is over we may take up residence in the coffee shop!

Well done and thank you for thinking the situation through and making what I personally feel is the right decision for you and your customers. I’m afraid that Boris Johnson has acted too quickly and unilaterally and it’s interesting to see that Wales, along with Scotland and Ireland have all taken a more cautious and, to my mind sensible, approach. Shame, if he professes to be upset that the United Kingdom didn’t act together, that he didn’t consult with the others first!
I’ll continue to use your brilliant order and collect service (about to make an order now!) and am so grateful to you for providing this over the past weeks. It works extremely well and efficiently and your staff are all stars. They couldn’t be more welcoming and helpful.
A big thank you from us for all you’re doing!

Well done on your decision, we all need to be safe. We shall be putting an order in for summer bedding as usual. Gardening is so important to lift the spirits. It will be wonderful when we can browse and buy plants again, and follow up with a coffee or lunch. Take care all of you .
