A popular and hardy March flowering dwarf daffodil, this has an upright habit. It has deep golden-yellow flowers and hold its petals horizontally like a rigid ruff, planted in a 16cm bowl. Daffodils, loved in their hosts, but also appealing in small groups. They differ greatly in their height and in the details of their floral arrangements. There are innumerable varieties and they are a cult plant: shows and competitions are devoted to the genus. They are divided into 13 categories or genera, depending on the size and conformation of the flower. These categories can be useful if one wishes to make a collection that represents the amazing diversity of a basically simple form. Daffodils come in shades between white and yellow with touches of red, pink and orange finely applied. There are a number of enchanting small forms - for boggy places the Hoop Petticoat daffodil is wonderful (Narcissus bulbodicum) and there are tiny varieties for nooks in a rock garden, 15cm Narcissus canaliculatus for example. In recent years some of the smaller forms (especially, perhaps, the dainty 'Tete a tete' ) have become popular. Where displays are planned to be seen at a distance, or they are naturalized in grasses, the larger forms are more effective. The plant's growth rate and size will vary depending on planting position & conditions. Delivery Note: Please note that unfortunately we are currently unable to deliver plants to Northern Ireland
