This has lush blooms that are coloured a vivid cherry red. The flower is semi-double and has an ample, shaggy centre of long creamy stamens that are gold at their tips. This striking flower has clear sharp colours that distinguish it from the soft pinks and velvety reds that are so common. A bold and handsome plant with impressive flowers during May. These are coloured a strong pinkish red with prominent maroon spotting on the rear petals. Cream, coffee-tipped stamens arch out of the fan-shaped throat of the bloom. As they age the colour fades to warm pink-lavender but the maroon spots retain their intensity, giving an entirely different colour effect. There are long sheeny green leaves. Lovely light pink flowers, fading to paler pink with a deep red flare in a rounded truss that flower in early May. This is a broad, dense plant with a neat habit and good glossy green foliage. This gorgeous plant shows a tendency to flower again in the Autumn. Height 150-175cm in 10 years. Enjoys acidic, mosit but well drained soil in most garden positions.
