Compact Rapid Rootrainers are a designed for smaller scale growing with all the features of original Rootrainers in a more compact module. Key Features: Compact Rapid Rootrainers have fewer cells than Rapid Rootrainers (with 20 as opposed to 32 cells) and so are ideal for the gardener who doesn't have too much space available or perhaps doesn't want to sow large quantities of the same seeds. 'Books' are held in their own slots which allows for spacing out to give plants more room as they grow Air pruning takes place within the tray Sturdy and strong tray with drainage holes Ideal for salads, herbs, bedding plants, plug plants and cuttings Each pack contains: 1 holding tray, 5 books and a clear propagating lid. Rootrainers encourage vigorous & strong root formation; roots grow straight, avoiding root balls and pot bound plants. Opening the Rootrainer up in a book-like fashion allows for easy inspection of moisture levels and root progress, as well as easy removal of the young plants.
The best start for seeds and young plants. Grow Tubes are more commonly used for sweet peas, beans, leeks and tap-rooted plants. Made from natural, biodegradable materials they can be used for cuttings and seedlings which require planting out Key Features: Protect roots from damage Roots grow freely through the tube Require string to be tied around the top to ensure they remain upright in a tray Each pack contains 20, 6cm tubes. If white mould appears on the Grow Tube separate the tubes by 25mm to allow the air to circulate between to dry out the tubes. Plants are ready for planting out when roots begin to grow through the sides. Once this happens, simply transfer straight into the ground and water thoroughly. The rim of the tube will also act as a deterrent for pests. One seed should be used per Grow Tube.
