Aucuba Japonica 'Crotonifolia' has some rather remarkable foliage which is a deep green and variegated with gold spots. Heuchera 'Obsidian' is perhaps the darkest foliaged heuchera, with the leaves almost black. This is contrasted by the tiny but brilliant white flowers during the summer that are held high above this dark foliage on long slim stems. Heuchera 'Paris' is a vibrant form of heuchera that has wonderfully green vibrant mound of foliage that produces out of it, long slender stems that hold clusters of tiny but colourful pink flowers during the summer. Hosta 'Blue Cadet' is a brilliant hosta with a slightly blue tint to the foliage. The leaves are large and heart shaped and from this spring tall flower stems that hold vibrant purple flowers during the summer. Digitalis purpurea 'Dalmatian Purple' is a variety of the common foxglove that has fantastic purple flowers that are relatively large. Inside the mouths of the flower are spots of deep red outlines by a fading gradient of white as if glowing. These spots lend the plant its name of 'dalmatian purple'. Primula veris Cowslip is a relative of the popular primrose, but looks quite different! During the spring it becomes smothered in chuncky tubular flowers that are a vibrant yellow and rather attractive. These are held in clusters on stalks above the mounded foliage. Cowslip has some fantastic other uses - mainly to make a fine bottle of cowslip wine, as far back as the 1700's! Tiarella 'Spring Symphony' gives us a fantastic show of light pink, nearing white flowers on tall, slightly disorganised, flower spikes during spring and early summeer months. These are held high above equally as disorganised bright green foliage with a mounding habit. Enjoys a shaded and moist position for best growth.
