Sansevieria Trifasciata 'Futura Superba' is a robust and resilient houseplant also known as 'Mother in Law's Tongue'. The wide, long leaves are bordered with a beautiful yellow variegation and the main body of the leaves are speckled in a snake-like pattern. These are easy to care for plants, being very drought tolerant they are happy to be left alone for long periods of time, making this the perfect houseplant for those new to houseplants or who are often away from home. Lithops is a genus of succulent plants, with one of the post popular being the 'living stones', which are a grouping of small ball shaped succulent foliage that fascinatingly look just like a bunch of stones. Cutting one open however will reveal a bright green centre, with the capacity to store water for several months - so dont overwater... Dry soil is fine! We have a mix of available lithrops, and one will be selected at random by a member of the team from the available specimens.
Sansevieria masoniana 'Victoria' is type of snake plant, commonly known as 'mother-in-law's tongue', but rather than being composed of several upright leaves like the sansevieria trifiscata, this variety is comprised of a single large upright leaf. Because of this, this particular variety is also known as 'whale fin' with its single-bladed appearance. The vibrancy of this single leaf is extremely eye catching, making it a great statement piece. Sansevieria are popular houseplants because they are easy to look after! Not particularly demanding and can survive in both shaded and dryer conditions. Haworthia 'Big Band' is a rather notable succulent, with its dark succulent leaves that are covered in raised white variegated banding. This is ideal for adding interest to any windowsill and as an added bonus, requires very little care. It would be advisable to keep out of direct sunlight however. Sansevieria cylindrica, is a variety of the popular mother in laws tongue plant, however its foliage is distinctly cylindrical, hence the common names of 'cylindrical snake plant', 'African spear' or 'spear sansevieria'. Its long upright spear-like foliage has a slight striping and mottling and is coloured a rich green. This plant is also good for indoor air quality as is considered amongst the best options for air purification. We have a few slightly different varieties of this plant as pictured. Opuntia Microdasys 'Cristata' is an unusual cactus that features twisted pads with bright yellow glochids. In ideal conditions, this cactus can also flower with bright yellow bloom up to 2 inches in size, but is a relatively rare site in average UK household climate. Haworthia Fasciata 'Alba' (sometimes known as the Zebra Plant') is a small indoor succulent with a distinctive zebra striped pattern on the outside and a more spotted appearence on the inside. The white bands are slightly raised and have a rougher texture than the smoother green parts of the leaves. Echiveria is considered a classic indoor succulent, and with over 150 species of this plant they can vary vastly in appearence - although all originate from warmer climates so will thrive in indoor environments in the UK.This easy to care for houseplant is perfect for any gardening novice as they require very little care and minimal watering, just give them lots of light! Rhipsalis Pulchra is an unusual houseplant with almost succulent-like trailing foliage. Despite this, its actually considered as a jungle cactus and is commonly referred to as the 'mistletoe cactus'! It makes a great mound of trailing foliage that can add instant volume to any indoor jungle. Given the right conditions, its capable of reaching trailing lengths of over a meter. In its natural environment and favourable conditions, this plant produces a show of small flowers. Euphorbia Trigona, despite its cactus-like appearence and even its nickname of 'cowboy cactus', is actually a succulent that originates from west africa. Its a stunning archetectural plant which adds instant drama to any room with its towering upright stems and thorned ridges that are accompanied by small leaves. We have two available; Standard and Rubra (which has slightly red ridges and a darker green appearence overall. The Pilosocereus Pachycladus Cactus is a columnar cactus with lightly blue hued stems. Its ridged appearance is accompanied by both clusers of areoles and spines and in a natural environament with ideal conditions can reach a height of 10m although is unlikely to achieve this in UK household environments. Sansevieria Trifasciata 'Laurentii' is a great statement piece in any home. It has tall, erect foliage with quite a spikey top... giving the plant its rather amusing common name of 'mother in-laws tongue'! The foliage is bright green with a bright yellow edge and upon close inspection is slightly mottled with noticable banding which makes it even more interesting. This is a great choice of plant for those new to houseplants, or those that wish for low maintenence pieces - likes a slightly dryer environment and can withstand a certain amount of neglect when it comes to watering - much like other succulents.
